Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS plus at least 2 years of experience, or a combination of related education and work experience equal to 6 years
  • Completion of accredited professional nursing program
  • Licensure by the state of Minnesota to practice professional nursing
  • CPR training and recertification every two years
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting a culture that respects and advances diversity and inclusion
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adapt in a fast paced environment
  • One year of experience working as lead nurse in mass vaccination clinics
  • Completion of accredited bachelor's professional nursing program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

About the Job

General Statement of Responsibilities:

The registered public health nurse at Boynton Health performs key population based nursing functions and delegated medical treatments. Assigned responsibilities are carried out in a manner respectful of the rights of patients from diverse populations and conducive to the efficient, effective rendering of high quality ambulatory care.This is temporary position at approximately 30 hours a week.

Detailed Job Responsibilities:

  • Onsite clinic management of COVID-19 & influenza mass vaccination clinics as well as biometric health screening clinics This includes personnel, clinic flow, RN clinical oversight, and emergency management
  • Ensure overall adherence to standing orders and protocols at mass vaccination clinics
  • Monitor and maintain cold chain and proper handling of vaccines
  • Monitor inventory of supplies on site
  • Assist with daily set-up and tear down of the facility
  • Continually improve processes and systems supporting mass vaccination sites
  • Assist in the assessment of personnel performance of clinic nurses
  • Manage data and documentation from each clinic including personal health records
  • Attend BH meetings as needed or required
  • Attend or conduct in-service training
  • Promote a safe, equitable, and respectful environment in which concerns can be addressed effectively
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical and Environmental Conditions

  • Mobility to work in a typical clinic setting and use standard equipment
  • Strength and agility to lift up to 25 pounds of force occasionally
  • Standing, walking and/or sitting for long periods of time
  • Possible exposure to communicable disease and medical preparations in the clinic setting
  • Ability to demonstrate immune status to measles, mumps, rubella, varicella and hepatitis B
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms
  • Ability to perform CPR in an emergency situation
  • Ability to respond to patient needs in emergency situations
