Physical RequirementsThis position requires regularly standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); intermittently lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Also involves some job-related travel (less than 10% of time); exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to loud noises, temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.

Job SummaryThe ESH Clerical Associate's primary responsibility is to support patient care delivery by processing physician orders, maintaining patient records, managing patient information, and providing customer service. This individual must have excellent organization and communication skills. Will work provisionally as scheduled.
Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesReceptionist skills, medical terminology, interpersonal skills, phone skills, keyboarding, filing, and fax machine. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel; EMR and basic medical terminology, experience and knowledge in using Outlook, medical records programs, HIPAA competency; have high attention to detail; excellent communication skills (both written & verbal); ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment; ability to be flexible and to learn new things quickly.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/ExperienceHigh School Graduate or Equivalent is required. One year of experience is required. The employee shall become familiar with HIPAA regulations and do their utmost to protect all protected health information (PHI) and other personal or sensitive information within their trust in the course of state business by applying appropriate safeguards and sharing only the information required to deliver agency services. Any personal or sensitive information overheard or seen by the employee will be kept confidential by not sharing it with others, on or off the work-site grounds. Fully participate in all activities regarding the elimination of the use of seclusion and restraints in patient care including educational requirements, competency development activities, and meeting established performance goals and measures. Must have computer competency in approved systems. Must have excellent customer service skills.
