Physical RequirementsThis position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
ShiftMust be able to work three, 12-hour shifts per week (night shift, 6p-6a); will also be required to work some weekend and holidays.
Job SummaryThe emergency medical dispatcher will serve within UK emergency services' dispatch. The dispatcher will be responsible for managing and directing emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching UK ambulances, scheduling ambulance transports, and assisting in air traffic control for helicopters landing at the UK medical center. They will also be responsible for call intake for all incoming EMS units and relay pertinent information to the appropriate party within the hospital.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/ExperienceTwo years of related experience highly preferred; experience in air traffic control operations and within a large healthcare organization preferred; at least 1 year of Public Safety/911 dispatch experience and/or dispatch certification preferred
