Overview
The Division of Pediatric Nephrology in the Department of Pediatrics at OHSU is seeking a full-time Pediatric Nephrologist. Doernbecher Children's Hospital at OHSU is the teaching hospital for pediatrics in the state of Oregon with a full complement of sub-specialists and fellow programs. The successful candidate will join a team of 4 Pediatric Nephrologists and 1 Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide care and teaching to the Doernbecher clinical and educational programs.
The duties of this position include: Clinical: Provides excellent clinical care in the outpatient, inpatient, and dialysis and outpatient outreach locations. Provides care that is compliant with all regulatory guidelines (CMS, JCAHO, and American Board of Medicine) and shares the clinical call and inpatient coverage with division colleagues. Education: Teaches residents, medical students and all trainees and support staff. Teaching and mentoring trainees may be through lectures, presentations, rounds, shadowing, and participation in clinical courses. The ability to give constructive feedback and demonstrate competence in teaching is required. Scholarship: Opportunities for scholarly research that result in improved clinical practice, understanding, detecting and treating diseases or improving the education foundation within pediatric medicine or pediatric nephrology are available and strongly encouraged. Other duties; Administrative and advocacy duties may also be assigned or sought within the division, hospital or academic department. Responsibilities
Licensed MD and eligible for license in the states of Oregon and Washington. Board certification or eligibility for specialty board certification in Pediatrics/Pediatric Nephrology. Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency and a Pediatric Nephrology fellowship. Demonstrated competence in research, clinical care and teaching.
