Overview

Breeding mice, tagging, cataloging, genotyping, and communicating with other lab members to determine their transgenic mouse needs.
Maintenance of lab equipment and facilities, ordering, training of staff and interns regarding protocols and procedures.
Conducting and analyzing scientific research.
Other general lab duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Bachelor's Degree (4 yr) in relevant field; OR Associate's Degree (2 yr) AND 3 years of relevant experience; OR 4 years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at one time in a fast-moving environmentExcellent communication skills are essential, as are analytical and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problems

Qualifications

Master's Degree or PhD in biomedical sciencesExperience in molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology, and/or neurobiology
Immunohistochemistry, RT-PCR, flow cytometry, and/or confocal microscopy
Handling and working with laboratory animals
Lab record keeping
