Job SummaryThe University of Kentucky College of Dentistry is inviting applications for a full-time faculty position in the non-tenure track for the Division of Public Health, Department of Oral Health Science. The anticipated start date for this assignment is July 1, 2025.
This position is required to provide a general dentist who will help provide quality dental care to both children and adults in a variety of community outreach and mobile outreach sites (including but not limited to local schools, daycare centers, nursing homes, prisons, etc. as deemed necessary and requested by the department) as well as at the primary site in Hazard and/or at the satellite side in Hindman. Dental care may be provided in traditional brick and mortar dental clinics, on-board mobile dental units, and/or in other non-traditional models such as lap to lap in daycare centers, or bedside in nursing homes. In addition, the individual in this position will be expected to participate in resident education including providing lectures and consultations to medical residents and students as well as direct clinical oversight of dental students and residents. The individual will also develop an area of scholarship that is commensurate with their other responsibilities. As the regional dental program continues to grow and develop, there may be other activities and duties assigned that would fit the University's pillars of education, research, service, and engagement. This general dentist will be under the supervision of the UK North Folk Valley Community Health Center (NFVCHC) Dental Director.
Qualifications for this position include a DMD or DDS degree from a CODA accredited institution or equivalent credentials. Candidates should be eligible to receive an unrestricted Kentucky license or a Kentucky dental faculty license. Experience in dental education desired but not required.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
