Overview

Areas of research interest include image grading to build up ground truth, machine learning approaches based on optical coherence tomography (OCT), OCT angiography and photography technologies to achieve diagnostic accuracy analysis, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, regression analysis, disease progression analysis, etc. Give presentations of research results.

Preparation of manuscript for journal publications, papers and grant applications.

Teach image processing, image grading, and statistics to research and clinical trainees.

Responsibilities

PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or MD in Ophthalmology.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills are critical. The successful candidate must be able to work well independently and assume responsibility for specific phases of research projects. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with team members are essential. Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking is essential. Familiarity with image processing, image grading, research design, statistics and the use of computers for research is highly desirable. Expert knowledge of programming languages. Ability to work independently; willingness to serve as a positive and professional role model.

Qualifications

One year work experience, or equivalent in thesis research and other research projects.

Experience in medical image processing, image grading, image analysis, and clinical study design is desirable.
