Overview

Follow workflows to process incoming prescription orders to determine coverage, seek authorization, assist with financial support identification and application, and process refill requests per protocol.Provider telephonic outreach and electronic outreach to patients, providers, pharmacies, manufacturer programs and others as needed to complete tasks.
Manage incoming assigned tasks and follow up on assigned tasks over time to ensure complete resolution.
Cover work assigned to other team members as needed to support operations and expected turn around times.
Triage work appropriately to pharmacists, technician team members, interdisciplinary team members.
Utilize the electronic medical record as well as other platforms to gather information and document per team standards.

Responsibilities

High School Diploma, active State of Oregon Pharmacy Technician License AND1 year of pharmacy work experience, or equivalent additional education; ANDCertification from the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board OR National Healthcareer Association. Certification must be maintained.
Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):
Computer keyboarding skills. Ability to read and understand medical-related terms.
Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical mathematics calculations.
Skill at manipulating small objects, e.g., needles, syringes, ampules.
Ability to establish priorities in workflow.
Good interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work under supervision of diverse Pharmacists.

Qualifications

Formal pharmacy technician training programMedical office setting experience or health system experienceInpatient and outpatient hospital pharmacy experience. Medical and scientific nomenclature. Microsoft application knowledge (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook)
