The Community Health Innovation Program Manager will report to the Sr. Executive Director, Innovation for Community Health and Societal Impact (Sr. ED), and work collaboratively with other team members to conduct and manage technical, patent, and market research in allocated innovation areas. The manager will identify commercialization partnership targets and/or potential startup team members and assess and secures market feedback and commercialization opportunities. This position will advise UK and community (through the HealthTech Accelerator and other Launch Blue programs) start-ups on early-stage technology development, business formation, and other funding & partnership opportunities, and collaborate with inventors to assess, advise, and implement commercialization strategies, coordinating with the Technology Commercialization Contracts Team to negotiate licensing and other partnership agreements to execution. In collaboration with the Sr. ED, Innovation for Community Health and Societal Impact, coordinate execution and management of the Health Impact Proof-of-Concept Fund, including implementation and execution of best practices for gap funds and related proof-of-concept investments to advance high-potential community health innovations for demonstration and commercialization. At direction and approval of the Sr. ED, coordinate resources and process for application promotion, solicitation, review, funding selection, and funds management. Support tracking of funded project milestones, reporting, and success case story telling. The primary responsibilities of this position will include but not be limited to: reporting, developing, utilizing, identifying, evaluating and refining commercialization plans following disclosure; collaborating with inventors to develop strategies for commercialization; coordination and management of the Health proof-of-concept fund to advance innovations for scale; working with and through UK Innovate commercialization programs to develop product-market fit understanding; soliciting interest in and forming relationships with partners ready to negotiate and execute license, option or other commercialization agreements.
