The SchoolBased Mental Health Liaison programprovides direct mental health services in the Jefferson County schoolsystem. Liaisons will provide individual consultation to teachers andassist them in structuring classrooms to enhance the learning environment forchildren whose risk of developing an emotional, behavioral, or substance abuseproblem is significantly higher than average or children who have minimal butdetectable signs or symptoms foreshadowing a disorder. Liaisons willprovide training and education to teachers, school staff, and students to promotehealthy learning environments. Liaisons will work closely with familiesand assist in the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEP). Liaisons will also provide direct services to identified students.
COMPENSATION: Startingsalary for this position is approximately $45,080 /yr based on relevantexperience and education.
Schedule:
Monday -Friday 8am - 5pm with some flexibility required to meet the needs of clients.
Travel:
F endorsement is required.
Equipment/Technology:
Use ofa Center issued cell phone and laptop computer is required. Basic computer skills are required for email, time keeping, and documentation in the EMR.
QUALIFICATIONS - SchoolBased Mental Health Liaison
Education:
Must have a Master's Degree in a human services field such as counseloror social work.
Experience / Knowledge:
Must have two (2)years experience working with children with emotional or behavioral problems,or two (2) years of experience with adolescent substance use/abuse prevention,or a combination of the two. Applicants should have experience leadinggroups and trainings.
Physical:
Minimalexposure to biological hazards.Hearing of normal/soft tones and close eye work. Valid driver's license. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. CPR and First Aidcertification required (training provided).Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbalde-escalation techniques.Applicants should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.Clinical staff may be required to get an F endorsement to transportclients as necessary.Apply today to work where we care about you as anemployee and where your hard work makes a difference!
