Overview
The APP will participate in education of nursing unit staff on protocols with the goal of enhancing quality of care and patient services, as well as decreasing the risk of hospital acquired conditions and patient ICU length of stay. The APP will participate with hospital/unit staff in evaluating effectiveness of protocols and promote an environment of continued process improvement.
Professional performance is delivered in a manner that is compliant with the regulations and guidelines of all relevant regulating bodies (e.g. DNV, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, and all other state, federal, and institutional regulatory agencies). APPs will be responsible to document all of their patient encounters in a timely manner in the electronic patient medical record and will be required to obtain knowledge and education related to appropriate use of the electronic health record, documentation, and coding in the ICU environment. At all times, the APP is expected to treat all patients and co-workers with dignity and respect.
Responsibilities
Successful completion of a Master Degree in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing in the speciality of Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult-Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG ACNP) from an accredited program. Current RN and NP licensure with the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Current ANCC Board Certification in the area of specialization. Clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider. Current ACLS certification. DEA certification. Interest in learning advanced clinical skills required to practice in the ICU environment. Interest in working in a community hospital setting.
