Responsibilities

This position will provide injury prevention education and special needs transportation resources to patients at Randall Children's Hospital and the community as appropriate. Responsibilities include inpatient consultation for child passenger safety needs or trauma prevention, coordination of educational courses, virtual classes, or events on campus as well as in the community. Additionally, this includes collaboration with families to ensure proper use of car safety seats, Safe Sleep recommendations (reflective of current AAP recommendations), & delivery of home safety information and resources to families as needed. The employee will be responsible for complete and thorough documentation and tracking of all activity and results in program tracking and EMR. Serves as a practicing role model, consultant and liaison in child injury prevention & wellness topics for patients/families, staff and community. Provide monthly reporting identifying successes and challenges.

Qualifications

Experience:

Minimum 1 year experience in provision of community/health education.

3 years strongly preferred.

Education:

Completion of "Safe Travel for All Children: Transporting Children with Special Health Care Needs" training preferred.
