Job Summary
Facilitates multiple enrichment program initiatives with a focus on health and physical activity for the University and local community. Serves as a community liaison for regional and national programs and develops partnerships with the local community centers and University Community Engagement Centers. Manages contracts and vendors; performs budgetary functions.
Essential Functions
The Just Health Collaborative is seeking a Health and Wellness Outreach Manager, to join an ongoing research study at the University of Pittsburgh titled "Technology Enhanced Substance Use and HIV Service Navigation for Justice Involved Young Adults."
The project's main objective is to connect young folks (18 to 29 years) surveilled by the criminal legal system to community-based HIV-prevention and substance use related services using peer navigation and a web-based app and in this role you would support the following activities.
Develop and collaborate with community partners;Delivering manualized health education information to program participants;Helping participants identify appropriate health and social services;Provide participants with social support and tangible assistance to overcome barriers to care access (e.g., appointment reminders, accompanying an individual to a doctor's visit);Meet with participants in person and/or virtually based on individual needs and preferences;Maintain up-to-date and accurate logs and documentation of services provided and supported in electronic entry systems (e.g., REDCap);Participate in supervision and project and team activities.
Physical Effort
Must be able to ambulate between buildings on campus and work out in the community.
