We'll rely on your ability to scan mail into electronic work bucket and process workload to resolution; monitor and process electronic and hardcopy payments; and run daily tapes on insurance voucher checks and personal payments. Responsibilities
Receives payments from patients and third-party payors for hospital and medical services and records amount received. Scans mail into electronic work bucket and processes workload to resolution. Monitors and processes electronic payment interfaces as well as hardcopy payments. Runs daily tapes on insurance voucher checks and personal payments. May specialize in types of payment, such as individual insurance checks, Workers Comp remittance, Clinic/Physician remittance, Medicare/Medicaid remittance or may specialize in one or more components of the essential functions or may be required to work with any combination of specialties. Works daily credit balance reports.
Qualifications
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent
Experience:
One year of healthcare clerical experience or healthcare admitting experience or applicable billing/cashiering experience. Experience working with electronic forms of data preferred. Healthcare cashiering experience preferred.
Skills:
Net Typing of 40 wpm and PC based computer skills.
10 key by touch.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment within stated guidelines.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills which promote cooperation and teamwork.
Ability to withstand varying job pressures and organize/prioritize related job tasks.
Excellent public relations skills and demonstrated ability to communicate in calm, businesslike manner.
Ability to adapt to change.
