Position Summary
The Team Lead provides day to day leadership to the team. The Team Lead will work directly with the team members to ensure patient information and documentation are processed in timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Lead and mentor the Patient Access Coordinators, Clinical Coordinators, and Authorization CoordinatorsReview cases to ensure benefits checks, orders, and notes are correct. Answer questions and train team membersPerform initial case review of all open cases on teamManage day to day activities of the teamReview and approve all orders and upgrades for the teamConduct weekly status meetings with Territory Managers. Communicate daily regarding patients, office updates and policy changesCover for other Team Leads and team members in their absences. This includes benefits checks, reviewing notes, creating documents, provider follow ups and creating authorizationsInterview candidates for the team. Approve PTO, perform 90 day and annual reviews, and all other supervisory duties for team membersAttend and participate in status meetings, as well as lead weekly team meetingsWilling to support all members of the teamComply with all HIPAA and privacy regulationsAdhere to laws and best practices in regards to dealing with patients and patient dataPerform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
High School Diploma or GED requiredMicrosoft Office experience, minimum of one year requiredData entry skills, minimum of one year requiredBasic medical terminology, minimum of one year requiredExcellent telephone skills, minimum of one year requiredVerbal and written communication skills, requiredAble to work in a team environment, requiredMedical documentation review, minimum of one year requiredExperience working in a healthcare setting, required Attention to detail, requiredCritical thinking skills, requiredPrevious prior authorization experience, preferredAdvanced knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and commercial health insurance, preferredPrior management experience, preferred
