Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) assesses patient's needs, develops the plan of care, implements and evaluates nursing care, provides education and consultation of staff, students, patients and the community. The CHH Perianesthesia Unit is a department within Perioperative Services within the Nursing Division. There are 15 Operating room within the surgical department, as well as a GI Unit and Minor Procedure Unit. The daily average volume of patient procedures performed ranges between 30-70 patients in all areas, Monday through Friday. The mission of the department is to provide exemplary, cost-effective care to the procedural and surgical patient, and to serve as a role model for patient care in the Pacific Northwest. This position requires working/floating within the perioperative services units.

Responsibilities

Minimum of 1 years of recent experience as RN in a critical care setting is required (ER,ICU,CCU or PACU)Associates or Bachelor's degree in nursing awarded from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), accreditation Commision for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commision for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) Associate Degree, Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hireCurrent unencumbered Oregon RN licenseACLS & BLS certifications awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) prior to start dateConstant exposure to usual hospital environment conditionsPossible exposure to body substanceAbility to lift, bend, stoop, stand push and walk throughout the shiftMust be able to respond within 45 minutes of being called when assuming call responsibilities.

and Phase I and II recovery.
