Overview

Research design and analysisLead or contribute to the development of evaluation designs and sampling plans; co-develop, or coordinate development of, qualitative and quantitative data collection instruments and procedures; participate in collection of primary and secondary data and oversee creation of databases to house these data as needed; conduct or oversee quantitative analyses, including use of established inferential statistical methods for complex datasets; create, maintain, analyze, and interpret local, state, and national-level primary and secondary quantitative data; lead or oversee qualitative analyses. Program evaluation leadership or oversight on assigned projectsLead or co-develop evaluation plans in collaboration with the A&E Manager; liaison with project team members, and arrange meetings and meeting logistics as needed for assigned projects; ensure implementation of evaluation activities specified in project plans and grant proposals; monitor timelines for evaluation projects; prepare Institutional Review Board proposals for assigned projects and monitor adherence to its protocols; participate in the preparation of grant proposals including contributing to narrative sections, developing logic models and work plans, and assisting with product organization and formatting. DisseminationGenerate reports as needed or requested by the A&E Manager or OCCYSHN program staff; prepare written reports, visual displays, or other products presenting assessment and evaluation findings, and develop recommendations as needed for presentations to internal and external stakeholders or conference presentations, grant requirements, and journal manuscripts.SupervisionSupervise junior staff and/or interns as delegated by the A&E Manager. Meet on a monthly basis with supervisees to discuss professional development, establish annual goals, review performance using OHSU's GROW framework. Communicate junior staff/intern professional development goals, successes, and challenges and workload needs to the A&E Manager. Other dutiesAttend OCCYSHN and A&E staff meetings; contribute to building the capacity of the A&E unit via (a) identification of and participation in professional development activities for self, and (b) providing guidance on evaluation research design, data collection procedures, database management, and analysis to less senior A&E team members and/or support staff; attend meetings associated with grant or special projects development, implementation, and evaluation; and complete other duties as assigned by the A&E Manager or OCCYSHN Director.
Responsibilities

Master's degree in public health, psychology, program evaluation, sociology, social work, or other related field AND 3 years of relevant experience, OREquivalent combination of Bachelor's in relevant field in conjunction with training and experience may be consideredMay require specific experience in particular area of research.Design evaluation research studiedDevelop and implement data collection methods and procedures.Work with electronic survey administration platforms (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, Survey Gizmo).Develop procedures for and manage data entry, monitor data quality, and oversee maintenance of project databases.Compute, or conduct quality assurance reviews of, inferential statistics using primary and secondary data.Conduct thematic or content analyses of qualitative dataUse, or be able to learn, SPSS and SPSS complex samples. (If don't use SPSS, use R, SAS, or STATA.)Use, or be able to learn, NVIVO Contribute to presentation of evaluation research findings verbally and in writing.Present research or evaluation findings to audiences with varying levels of research sophistication.Work independently.Collaborate within a team.Effectively manage and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously, develop and adhere to project timelines, and prepare high quality products and deliverables. Use MS Office Suite.Evidence initiative and self motivation.Possess excellent attention to detail and factual and data analysis accuracy.
Qualifications

Post-degree work experience in a program evaluation or applied research setting on projects with a child, adolescent, or children and youth with special health care needs focus.

Work experience includes:
Collaborating with communities of color or other minoritized communities, orLeading small evaluation projects or pieces of larger evaluation projects, orProviding training and technical assistance, or
Contributing to grant proposal preparation.

Demonstrated ability to:
Provide training and technical assistance to program staff on the data collection and management protocols.Collaborate with clients to develop evaluation design, data collection tools, or analysis and reporting plans.
Knowledge of cultural humility, Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Service Standards, or culturally responsive evaluation.

Knowledge of public health framework as it applies to Title V maternal and child health block grant and children with special health care needs.
