Your Role: (On-site in Seattle, WA) The Medical Affairs Intern will support the Medical Affairs team in executing core activities related to medical communications, evidence generation, scientific engagement, and cross-functional collaboration. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, scientifically driven environment that bridges clinical research, regulatory affairs, and commercial teams. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented students pursuing a degree in a scientific or healthcare-related field with an interest in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
Responsibilities
Your Work:
Assist in the development and review of scientific materials, including slide decks, literature summaries, and FAQs for internal and external stakeholders.Support the planning and coordination of advisory boards, investigator meetings, and scientific congresses.Conduct literature reviews and competitive intelligence research to support scientific and strategic initiatives.Help track and manage medical inquiries from healthcare professionals in collaboration with the Medical Information team.Aid in the organization and documentation of medical insights gathered through field medical teams or other channels.Participate in cross-functional meetings with regulatory, clinical, and commercial colleagues to support product and therapy area objectives.Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting for ongoing medical projects and initiatives.Maintain accurate records in systems related to medical affairs activities, such as publication tracking or KOL (Key Opinion Leader) engagement.Perform other administrative and project-based tasks as assigned by the Medical Affairs team.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a life sciences discipline (e.g., Biology, Pharmacology, Public Health, or a related field).Previous internship or research experience in a healthcare, pharmaceutical, or academic setting is preferred.Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with literature databases (e.g., PubMed) is a plus.Ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Professional demeanor and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.Intermittent walking to gain access to work areas.Finger dexterity sufficient to use a computer and to complete paperwork activities.Vision sufficient to use a computer, to read written materials and to complete paperwork activities; Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals by telephone and in person.Must have the ability to lift 10 - 20 lbs.Must have the ability to work in an office environment around laboratories, manufacturing areas and equipment with exposure to blood, blood products or OPIM (other potentially infectious materials) while donning required personal protective materials.
