Position Summary
Demonstrate working knowledge and executive level understanding of the Military Health System (MHS), the Defense Health Agency, DHA Facilities Enterprise, DHNs and the Services facility planning organizations. Demonstrate working knowledge of equipment associated with the health facility planning, design and healthcare delivery along with a working knowledge of dental, veterinary, and research facilities. High level written and oral communication skills. Proficient with the following Microsoft Office programs: Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook. Comprehensive knowledge of DoD medical space planning and design criteria, DoD space and equipment planning system (SEPS), and industry standards for the planning and design of medical facilities. Requires a minimum of biomedical technician training from a credentialed program, other clinical area, engineering, architecture or healthcare administration.

Essential Duties
1) Program Manager for the Military Standard 1691 Construction and Material Schedule for Medical, Dental, Veterinary and Medical Research Laboratory Facilities.
2) Coordinates with the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) to identify and implement VA-specific requirements into the on-line tool dataset.
3) Performs continual equipment dataset sustainment activities to ensure the dataset joint schedule number (JSN) records reflect current Enterprise-level requirements for furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) required for facility program execution.
4) Edits and publishes policy level guidance pertinent to equipment criteria used in MHS and DVA facility projects IAW Federal funding guidelines.
5) Requires technical expert knowledge of biomedical equipment requirements, concepts, principles, operations, and practices applicable to health care facilities worldwide, to formulate and implement new policy for medical equipment related to DOD space and equipment design policies.
6) Requires a thorough understanding of architectural and engineering disciplines to validate design requirements for biomedical equipment.
7) Requires ability to develop appropriate equipment technology requirements to support a facility's healthcare business plan, through staff interviews, group sessions, and market research.
8) Prepares project justification, specifications, decision briefings, decision papers and training presentations.
9) Lead Equipment Working Group hosting regularly scheduled meetings.
10) Experience, working knowledge, and executive level understanding of the Military Health System (MHS).
11) Support Source Selection Evaluation Board (SSEB) as Equipment Technical SME participant when requested by design and construction Agents.
12) Perform market research and meet with industry vendors to updated equipment planning criteria.
13) Demonstrate a working knowledge and executive level understanding of the Military Health System (MHS), the Defense Health Agency, DHA Facilities Enterprise, DHNs and the Services facility planning organizations.
14) Demonstrate high level written and oral communication skills.
15) Proficient with the following Microsoft Office programs: Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook.
16) Demonstrate a working knowledge of DoD medical space planning and design criteria, DoD space and equipment planning system (SEPS), and industry standards for the planning and design of medical facilities preferred.
17) Familiar with the Medical Logistics equipment services and associated agencies.
Education and Experience
Minimum of biomedical technician training from a credentialed program, other clinical area OR a degree in engineering, architecture or healthcare administration.7-10 years' experience and working knowledge of equipment associated with the health facility planning, design and healthcare delivery along with a working knowledge of dental, veterinary, and research facilities.
Work Environment
This role is intended to be 100% onsite at Defense Health Agency in Falls Church, VA. However, individuals with exceptional qualifications may be permitted to work remotely and travel as required.
Physical Demands
The role typically involves a combination of office settings and on-site visits to healthcare facilities, which may include construction zones or areas with ongoing equipment installations. Adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required are also essential.
