Job Summary
City is seeking a Manager to lead our Environmental Health and Safety team at our growing Irwindale site. This individual will influence, inspire and guide others in our journey to establish a Zero Incident Culture. Important skills include building relationships, communication with executives and hourly employees, leadership by example, critical thinking and problem-solving, collaboration and continuous improvement. This position will provide full time environmental health and safety leadership to site operations and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with federal, state, and local law. The Manager of EHS will also be responsible for coordinating regulatory programs and permit applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Promotes EHS policies and practices throughout the facilityEstablish new strategies, create awareness, and implement safety programs within the facilityPlans, implements, and oversees approved safety and environmental policies and procedures that support compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations (i.e. OSHA, USEPA, State EPA, Municipal)Maintains accurate records as required for all regulatory bodiesPlans, implements, and oversees City Brewery safety and environmental policies and proceduresProvide safety awareness throughout the facility through coordination and implementing EHS trainingManage the facility contractor safety program with facility contractor coordinatorsCreate and maintain EHS leadership Team and employee Safety CommitteeConnects regularly with EHS leadership across City's sites to discuss current needs and share best practicesWorkers compensation claim managementEnvironmental monitoring, reporting, and permitting
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in related fieldMinimum of 5 years of Environmental Health, and Safety Leadership experienceMinimum of 10 years total EH&S experience; experience in a fast-paced, multi-shift manufacturing environment, a plusCertified Safety Professional accreditation, a plusManufacturing environment experience, a plusProficiency using MS Suite in daily interactionsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience working in union environments, a plusAbility to work in a team environmentFlexibility to overtime and on-call hoursWillingness to travel to other sites domestically about 10-15%
