Position Summary

The Healthcare Architectural/Construction Management Support role provides comprehensive planning, design, construction, and Initial Outfitting & Transition (IO&T) management support for the Defense Health Agency Facilities Enterprise (DHA-FE) located in Falls Church, VA. The selected individual will support the execution and oversight of a wide range of healthcare infrastructure projects, including Military Construction (MILCON), Unspecified Minor Military Construction (UMMC), and Uniformed Services University (USU) design initiatives. Additionally, the position includes management of special projects as assigned by DHA-FE, with a focus on ensuring compliance with applicable federal, military, and healthcare design and construction standards. This role is critical in delivering fully functional, code-compliant medical facilities that meet operational and clinical requirements within the Military Health System (MHS).

Essential Duties
Project Management Support:Serve as part of a multidisciplinary project team supporting the lifecycle of military medical facilities in the National Capital Region (NCR).Ensure adherence to design and construction standards, codes, and regulatory guidelines.Advise DHA Officer-in-Charge (OIC)/Program Manager (PgM) on coordination, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.Technical and Construction Oversight:Provide constructability and technical reviews throughout design and construction phases.Monitor and ensure quality execution by Construction Agencies (NAVFAC, USACE).Conduct field inspections and participate in NAVFAC QA/QC programs.Facility Activation and IO&T Support:Provide transition planning, commissioning, and decommissioning support.Coordinate with stakeholders on ECPs, IM/IT integration, medical equipment requirements, and movement planning.Participate in Red Zone, commissioning, acceptance, and punch-out processes.Administrative and Reporting Duties:Prepare reports, briefings, and executive summaries.Review RFIs, design documents, submittals, and contractor schedules.Support VIP project tours, user meetings, and stakeholder engagements.Education, Experience and Technical Skills
Candidates must demonstrate expertise in medical facility planning, design, construction, and activation. Experience must include:
Comprehensive knowledge of hospital project lifecycle, including design and activation.Direct technical support in medical construction and IO&T for DoD or equivalent agencies.Proven experience implementing project oversight systems and processes.Familiarity with DHA and NAVFAC MFPO roles and responsibilities in facility activation.
Education and Experience
Licensed Architect or Construction Manager.Minimum 5+ years experience with healthcare projects.Minimum 1+ year experience supporting NAVFAC and/or USACE on medical facility projects.Security ClearanceAbility to obtain required government clearance.Must comply with all federal, DoD, and DHA workplace requirements and protocols.
Physical Demands

The role typically involves a combination of office settings and on-site visits to healthcare facilities, which may include construction zones or areas with ongoing equipment installations. Adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required are also essential.
